Essay: "Structural Hexachords in Philippe Manoury's Solo de Vibraphone"

- A harmonic analysis of the Philippe Manoury's classic Solo de Vibraphone from "Le Livre de Claviers." This harmonic analysis offers insight into Manoury's harmonic development through this piece, and provides a system for understanding the rotational structure of his hexachord harmonies as they present in both the foreground and structural levels of the piece.


Presentation & Essay: "A Tonal Analogy for Metric Modulations in Elliott Carter's 'Canaries'

- An analysis of the tempo modulations in Elliott Carter's "Canaries", and how Carter mimics tonal structures in progressing the music through metric modulation in its absence.

Presentation: "Tone Control: Engineering Your Sound as a Percussionist"

- A new approach to timbre for percussionists grounded in thinking about overtone frequencies, mapping their changes in real time to an ADSR model, and how percussionists can manipulate them. Performance examples based on standard orchestral excerpts.​
