MULTI-PERCUSSION PEDAGOGY RESOURCES

A common issue with studying multiple percussion is the lack of space and instruments. In a field that is capable of seemingly infinite expansion, we as percussionists and educators are often bound by the limits of our spaces and inventories.

In an effort to increase access for study by students, I have developed a guide for common multiple percussion "footprints". The guide organizes common multiple percussion works by shared instrumentations, so that multiple students can study different pieces while only making minor tweaks to a shared setup and instrumentation. This effort has been undertaken by compilers of repertoire, such as Andy Bliss's Multitudes, and this guide seeks to do the same across a vast scope of repertoire. I have made a valiant attempt to be exhaustive, but it will never be so.

In some cases, multiple setups have been provided for the same piece, which may be associated with specific performers or recordings.

Thanks to the University of Kentucky repertoire guide for serving as a starting point for pedagogic repertoire.
